Alison Schonwald MD

Alison Schonwald MD, FAAP is a national leader in the field of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Dr. Schonwald led the preeminent Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics fellowship training program for several years during her 23 years at Boston Children's Hospital, while teaching medical students, residents, general pediatricians, and her specialist colleagues.

 

She is a popular speaker at local and national conferences, focusing on autism, ADHD, psychopharmacology, and early diagnosis of developmental disorders. Her research on developmental screening and contributions to state-wide screening is recognized as instrumental in practice improvement.

 

Dr. Schonwald has held many leadership positions. An Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, she is in the Department of Pediatrics at Cambridge Health Alliance, currently works with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Board of Pediatrics, and just stepped down from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
